the 2026 Data Business Benchmark Report

Two new ways to close deals faster and forecast more precisely

Introducing Next Steps and Forecast — built for sales leaders who want clarity, not clutter.

Table of Contents

1. Next Steps — Like tasks, but built for sales.

Generic task lists weren’t built for closing deals. Next Steps gives your team a structured sales playbook embedded directly into every deal — so nothing falls through the cracks.

Here’s how it works:

  • Define your playbook once. Go to Deal Settings and configure your standard next steps — grouped by pipeline stage, with suggested due dates and action types.
  • Reps follow the path. Inside each deal, reps select their next action from a guided list. Tasks auto-sequence, enforce chronological order, and include due dates tied to your deal cadence.
  • Track execution across your team. The /next-steps view gives leaders a single pane of glass: see every open task across all deals, filter by owner, company, or action type, and instantly spot overdue items.

Bonus: Completing a task resets the deal’s rotting timer, logs the interaction to the activity stream, and can even prompt a stage change when the deal is ready to advance.

📬 Reps also receive a daily digest email every weekday at 8 AM ET with their overdue and due-today items — so priority tasks never get buried.

2. Forecast — See the quarter before it happens.

Spreadsheet forecasts break the moment someone forgets to update a row. Forecast pulls directly from your live pipeline to build a real-time revenue picture — with room for manager judgment.

Here’s how it works:

  • Every deal, automatically staged. Forecast pulls all active deals and organizes them by expected close date and probability. No manual data entry.
  • Add manager insight. Use Forecast Plugs to layer in revenue you know is coming but isn’t yet in the pipeline — renewals in negotiation, verbal commits, or strategic bets. Add comments to any deal for context.
  • Report with confidence. Export a polished landscape PDF with summary KPIs, deal-level detail (including manager comments), and the revenue timeline chart — ready for your board deck or leadership review.
