Projects – Deliver Advisory Engagements

Table of Contents

The Projects screen is your operational hub for delivering advisory engagements. Each project represents an active client engagement with tasks, timelines, team assignments, and progress tracking. From kickoff to completion, this screen keeps your delivery on track and your clients informed.

Getting There

Navigate to Operations → Advisory → Projects in the left sidebar.

Key Features

Project List

See all your active and completed projects in a clean list view. Each entry shows the project name, client, status, progress, total value, and key dates. Filter by status to focus on active engagements.

Project Detail

Click into any project to see the full detail: tasks, timeline, comments, files, and client information. The detail view is your command center for managing the day-to-day of each engagement.

Task Management

Each project contains tasks derived from your service catalog (or created manually). Tasks include names, descriptions, hours, responsible parties, target dates, and status tracking. Mark tasks complete as work progresses.

Gantt Chart

Visualize the project timeline with a Gantt chart. See task durations, dependencies, and milestones on a timeline. This is especially useful for complex, multi-phase engagements.

File Management

Upload and manage project files — deliverables, working documents, meeting recordings, and more. Files can be associated with specific tasks for better organization.

Client Communication

Add comments and notes that create a communication trail for the project. Track decisions, updates, and feedback all in one place.

Customer Portal

Share project progress with clients through a dedicated customer portal. Clients can view tasks, check progress, submit feedback, and access shared files — all without needing a full Subrise account.

Step-by-Step: Managing a Project

  1. Create or convert — Start a project from scratch or convert an accepted proposal.
  2. Set the timeline — Define start and target end dates, and set target dates for individual tasks.
  3. Assign responsibilities — Make sure each task has a clear owner.
  4. Kick off with the client — Share the project portal link with your client for visibility.
  5. Track progress — Update task statuses and add comments as work progresses.
  6. Upload deliverables — As tasks are completed, upload the deliverable files.
  7. Review on the Gantt chart — Periodically check the timeline to ensure you’re on track.
  8. Complete the project — When all tasks are done, mark the project as complete.

💡 Tips & Best Practices

  • Update tasks in real time — Don’t batch task updates. Updating as you go keeps the project accurate and the client informed.
  • Use the customer portal — Proactive transparency builds client trust and reduces status-check emails.
  • Review the Gantt weekly — A quick Gantt check ensures you catch timeline slippage early.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the customer portal work?

Each project has a unique portal link that you share with the client. They can view progress, files, and leave comments without needing a Subrise account or login.

Can I invoice from the project?

Tasks can be configured to trigger invoices when completed. Invoice tracking within the project helps you manage billing milestones.
