The Deals screen is your sales team’s home base. It’s where you manage your entire pipeline — from new leads entering the funnel to deals closing and customers moving into onboarding. With Kanban boards, list views, and detailed deal tracking, this screen keeps your sales process organized and visible.
Getting There
Navigate to Operations → Sales → Deals in the left sidebar.
Key Features
Leads Tab
Manage incoming leads before they become deals. The Leads tab lets you add, qualify, and convert leads into the sales pipeline. Track lead source, quality, and assignment to ensure no opportunity is missed.
Are you a manager? Use the controls to auto-assign deals via any logic you can imagine.
Deals Kanban Board
The heart of the Deals screen — a visual Kanban board that shows your deals organized by pipeline stage. Drag and drop deals between stages as they progress. Each card shows key deal information at a glance: company, value, rep, and age.
Deals List View
Prefer a table? Switch to the list view for a sortable, filterable table of all your deals. This is great for bulk analysis, exporting, and when you need to see lots of deals at once.
Deal Detail
Click on any deal to open the detail drawer with comprehensive information: deal value breakdown, contacts, files, sales cycle progress, activity timeline, and more. Everything you need for that account is right here.
Onboarding Tab
Once a deal is closed-won, it moves to the Onboarding tab. Here you can track the customer onboarding process with its own Kanban board, ensuring smooth handoff from sales to customer success.
Sales Cycle Planner
For deals with defined sales cycles, the Sales Cycle Planner provides a structured workflow with stages, tasks, and timeline tracking. This ensures reps follow your proven sales methodology consistently.
Deal Value Breakdown
Break down deal values into components — recurring revenue, one-time fees, professional services, etc. This gives you a more accurate picture of deal economics and helps with forecasting.
Step-by-Step: Working a Deal Through the Pipeline
- Add a lead — Enter new leads via the Add Lead dialog with company info, source, and initial notes.
- Qualify the lead — Review the lead details and decide whether it’s worth pursuing. Convert qualified leads to deals.
- Manage the deal — Move the deal through pipeline stages on the Kanban board as conversations progress.
- Track activities — Add notes, upload files, and log contacts in the deal detail drawer.
- Close the deal — When a deal is won, use the Close Deal dialog to record the final details.
- Start onboarding — The deal moves to the Onboarding tab where the handoff to CS begins.
💡 Tips & Best Practices
- Keep the Kanban updated daily — An outdated pipeline is worse than no pipeline. Make it a habit to update deal stages every day.
- Use deal value components — Breaking down deal values gives more accurate forecasting and better commission calculations.
- Don’t skip the sales cycle — If your org uses sales cycle tracking, completing each step increases win rates by enforcing best practices.
- Document everything in the deal drawer — Meeting notes, proposals, and contacts should all live in the deal for team visibility.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I customize the pipeline stages?
Pipeline stage names are not editable – by design. To account for expected deal tasks, add a custom required deal step. Anything you could imagine is possible. Additionally, if you require files, add that requirement.
What happens when I close a deal as won?
The deal is moved to closed-won status, and if onboarding is enabled, it automatically appears in the Onboarding tab. The deal value is reflected in your sales reports and commission calculations.
Can I track multiple deals for the same company?
Yes — a company can have multiple deals simultaneously. Each deal is independent with its own value, stage, and assigned rep.
How do leads differ from deals?
Leads are unqualified opportunities — they haven’t entered your formal sales pipeline yet. Once you determine a lead is worth pursuing, you convert it to a deal, which then moves through your pipeline stages. Also, Leads are typically populated by marketing and in Subrise OS, they can be automatically populated by the MQL Tracker’s automation features.
